Anya McDavis-Conway is a Research Scientist and Objects Conservator at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). Since November 2011 she has founded a conservation lab and led collaborative projects between OIST and local museums, with whom she is studying and conserving Okinawan artifacts. Prior to this, Anya worked in the Conservation Department of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs from 2006-2011. In New Mexico, she worked on a variety of projects involving exhibitions, conservation treatment, collections moves, rehousing, and condition surveying. Anya received her MS from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation in 2007 with a major in objects conservation and a minor in preventive conservation. She also received a BA in Art Conservation from the University of Delaware in 2003. Her pre-program and graduate internship experiences included the National Gallery of Jamaica, Michael C. Carlos Museum, Field Museum of Natural History, Worcester Art Museum, and the National Museum of African Art.
