Gerrit Albertson is currently the Annette de la Renta Fellow in Paintings Conservation at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, working under the supervision of Michael Gallagher and Dorothy Mahon. A 2017 graduate from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC), Gerrit completed a 12-month internship at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam as his final year of graduate study. Under the supervision of paintings conservators Petria Noble and Anna Krekeler, his main focus was to examine, research, and treat a seventeenth-century panel painting by Haarlem artist Jan de Bray. He completed summer internships at Conservazione Beni Culturali in Rome and at the Yale University Art Gallery.
