Helen Bailey is the Library Fellow for Digital Curation and Preservation at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Bailey works on a range of activities related to the long-term management of digital content, including: participating in the Libraries’ digital content management initiative, contributing to an ongoing scan of community standards and practice for digital curation and preservation, developing outreach materials to raise awareness about good practice, conducting a preservation metadata assessment, and coordinating an experiment to identify and address format-specific challenges for PDF theses Prior to working at MIT, Bailey received a B.S. from Florida State University, an M.S. in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Library and Archives Conservation from the Kilgarlin Center for Preservation of the Cultural Record at the University of Texas. From 2010-2012, she was a preservation specialist with the Dartmouth College Library. Bailey has been the Chair of the Electronic Media Group of AIC since 2012.
