Antonio Iaccarino Idelson was born in Naples in 1966. After completing a diploma in wood conservation in Florence, he went on to study conservation of paintings and architectural surfaces from the Istituto Centrale di Restauro of Rome, graduating in 1993. After his studies he worked on a wide range of materials, first on his own, and then as a member of the Cooperative CBC in Rome from 1996 to 2002. A founder of Equilibrarte in 2002, he combines manual skills with pleasure in the investigation of the relations between conservation, craftsmanship and science. He values the opportunity to interact with others, within a company which welcomes challenging problems. His enthusiasm for languages has made it easier to take the work of Equilibrarte to many other countries. He has devoted much time and energy to fostering research projects. Since 2002 he has taught the Conservation of Canvas Paintings at the University of Urbino.
