Frances Lennard is the Director of the Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History at the University of Glasgow and leads the MPhil Textile Conservation programme. She was previously the Programme Leader of the MA Textile Conservation at the Textile Conservation Centre, University of Southampton, following a career as an independent textile conservator. She is currently leading a Leverhulme Trust funded project investigating the conservation and display of tapestries, using strain monitoring techniques, in collaboration with Dr Phil Harrison from the School of Engineering at Glasgow. She is also the Principal Investigator of a project on Pacific barkcloth, funded by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council. She has edited two books: Tapestry Conservation: Principles and Practice, with Maria Hayward (2006) and Textile Conservation: Advances in Practice with Patricia Ewer (2010).
