Helen Thomas-Haney joined the firm in 2006 and was promoted to principal in 2014. Helen's expertise in developing carefully designed testing programs provide to our clients a better understanding of what is possible in restoration and conservation. A second area of expertise is her masonry and ceramic conservation treatments. Helen's special interests include metals, masonry, masonry testing and modern materials. She has written papers and given presentations on a wide range of topics including the conservation of historic concrete, restoration of metals, historic finishes on aluminum, the impact of heat on architectural finishes, and basic masonry investigative techniques. Helen is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works and is a board member of the Northeast Chapter of Association for the Preservation of Technology. She is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Historic Preservation Program in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University.
